The Thor Project

Alright!  No more flowery prose.  No more "I'm gonna get jacked one day!"  It starts today, and I'm going to use this blog to chronicle the journey from pud to stud.  The total transformation from skinny "my back hurts in the morning" to superhero physique.  I introduce any of you unlucky enough to stumble across my blog to this:

The Thor Project.

Current weight: 150.4 lbs.

Goal weight: 185 lbs.

That's 185 of cut muscle.  Not the "I eat at Zaxby's" everyday look.  I think that is about the ideal weight for my frame for athletic purposes.

First things first: Dietary overhaul.  I am going to start with a week long juice fast, which I will chronicle here and document.  I have calculated approximately a 2k calorie per day juice diet that I am hoping will restore my body to factory settings.

I will detail the juice fast in my next post.

Cheers!

Teaching an old blog new tricks

For a long time I've noticed a growing dissatisfaction in my life. I've grown complacent in a lot of areas that have been dragging me down into a feeling of discontent. This morning I woke up with the feeling that I'm speeding rapidly towards a lifetime of mediocrity. That I'm a bum. That I need to improve upon just about every aspect of my life. Obviously trying to overhaul everything at once becomes a little overwhelming and soon focus wanes and you're stuck mired in the same place that you were before. So we're going to break down the long term goal of completely renovating my current lifestyle for now into diet and fitness. My diet really isn't that bad and I'm in better shape than the average 27 year old, but I don't want to be comparing myself to "average." I don't want some guy on the BBC in 80 years summing up my life with "He was a jolly bloke, if not a bit ordinary."

Ok so I've settled on diet and fitness as my first and number one goal but I guess you could compact it into 'better health.' I have no idea where I'm going at this point in life, but I figure wherever it is will be better with 6 pack abs and lower cholesterol. So with that being said, here are some first steps I'll be taking today:

- Cutting out all soft drinks/sodas (or pop if you're a weirdo.) Easier said than done when you live in the Coca Cola capital of the world.

- Drastic reduction in refined carbs. Nothing will send you towards heart disease and diabetes town faster than sugary deliciousness. Peace out, M&Ms.

- More veggies. I'm sure 99% of people list this and never do it, so lets see if I can incorporate a few more into the diet successfully.

Gotta learn to crawl before you can walk. Pretty soon we'll be running.

I don't really know what just happened.

What the deuce?

If you dont understand the reference to the title, then you should check out Dave Chappelle's stand up. For those that do, I salute you because you're probably a suave referencer of pop culture like myself.
